Cat Scratching Pole

First, you need all the material and supplies that you can get at any convenience store or home supply store. They are:
-One cupboard or cedar post of 30″ tall and at least four in diameter
-A bundle of no oiled sisal rope
-One piece of 3/4″ plywood
-Few coated sinker nails
First thing first and before we are starting, you’ll want to ensure that your base post is dry. This is important because after the sisal is wrapped around the post, you don’t want it is contracted and ruin the whole post base.
When cutting the base post, please make sure that the measurement is enough to make scratching pole stand up and sturdy. The size of post base should be around 10 inch by 10 inch measurement. Please also take note on the thickness; it should be about 1-2 inch thick. Cut the material and make sure it put in the centre of the base. Cut them into two pieces each with 20 inches long to make the scratching pole.
Then come the part of the carpet wrapping stuffs. Put the carpet remnant wrapping the carpet around the board pole. Before putting it, please make sure you stick them together with carpet glue. But for the end touch, put staple gun to make sure your carpet and board is stick securely. Please pay attention on the area of the pole where you should make sure both carpet and board are staples closer together on the edge.
When your cat scratching pole is ready, it is the time to train your cat to play with it. When you introduce this post to your cat, they may hesitant at first. No need to worry, you can rub special catnip in to the rope. The special essence of cat nip will make your cat attracted.
